Daytrip to Pagsanjan Waterfalls

Image
Another throwback story to share. A day after coming back from Kalibo to Manila. I think it was our last day there. We had a change of plans to go for a day trip to Pagsanjan Waterfalls instead.  Yet again, a zombie mode for all of us as we barely had enough sleep.  We didn't want to waste time getting stuck in the traffic jam, so we were up early to have our favourite Filipino breakfast before our family driver came. Long way on a highway, everyone know how bad traffic jam can be in a busy, congested city. It's always nice to find delicious snacks on our pit stop to the convenient store/gas station/comfort room.  We all shared this. Baked and cheesy!  And just had to snap this because we were stucked in traffic and obviously I was bored in the van.  On the highway in Laguna, To where we were finally in the city of Calamba.  Passed through rice fields, hills and mountains. Signboards and lots of swimming pool places. Or wha

I went and now, I'm finally home

.....from some where I have never thought I could. Halfway through but I'll be back.

Tenom, it's a wrap!

Image
Continuation from A day at an orchard in Tenom  Time to fill our tummy with late lunch in town after spending time in the orchard. I have always love some yummy Chinese food. Since I have been to Lagud Seberang's Taman Pertanian like twice and a famous Kopi Tenom's Factory, we decided to skipped it this time around.  For the very first time ever, I get to hold a crocodile. It was so huge, yes for real.  Except that it was a very tame one. May I introduced to you all my new friend called Ah Chong. It was a famous crocodile in that town who was born in the year of 1960. He loves cold water and fresh meat. And a pat on his skin too. On that day of our visit, Ah Chong gave me a smile while I went on snapping pictures of him. Hope to see you again 'Uncle Ah Chong'! :p So this wraps up my journey to Tenom :D

A day at an orchard in Tenom

Continuation from Day trip to Tenom :) Had breakfast at a home-based kampung area in Inobong. Noodle soup and beancurd in a super early morning. I think I had too much. And may I say I had a fulfilling one.  We went to Tenom via the new Kimanis-Keningau road. I haven't been to Tenom for years. I think the last time I was there, it was my uncle's wedding. So yes, I'm using my off day this time to smell some fresh air and water, eating the almost out of season durians by the cooling stream. Fruits of love, a variety of it. My uncle's father in law has the ability for traditional weaving baskets. I would love to try and learn for I could see that this tradition will fade soon. And while we are at it, listening to his stories, I simply love the breath taking view of fish pond and padi field combined. Right at their backyard. Lovely day, I wished I have more green hands.   :)

Daytrip to Kundasang & Tambunan (Pt.3)

Image
Continuation from Daytrip to Kundasang & Tambunan (Pt.2) From Kundasang to Ranau town, enroute to Tambunan. We went to Mahua Waterfalls. It has been ages since my last visit here. Something has changed. For the better improvement. Unlike other waterfalls I have been, I simply love it how the trail goes by the boardwalk. And since my last time, the water runs faster that day than usual. Still a nice place just to chill and get some iced cold bath. I can feel the pleasure by just soaking my feet in there! So the next I'm planning on coming, I want to dip myself into the water much longer :D See what nature can do for someone on a weekend. It's love okay! :) Till the next travel post! :p

Daytrip to Kundasang & Tambunan Pt.2

Image
Continuation from Daytrip to Kundasang & Tambunan Pt.1 When in Kundasang, never ever miss a visit to the Kundasang War Memorial located right at the heart of Pekan Kundasang. Always my favourite place to come to whenever I am there. It reminds me of little piece of overseas garden I've never stepped on before. I wished I had a beautiful garden just like it. As if I am in Australia for real. Oh me and my dreams.... With historical and luscious green combined, I do hope that this place remain it's beauty. Proper maintenance and with the help of the public, it will be there long for the future generation to come and see.

Day trip to Tenom :)

Early morning and breakfast the old school way. Spent the day at an orchard. Back to basic, smell the nature and you'll get lots of love and kisses from the mosquito. *giggles* Made friend with a crocodile and ending my day with a burp full from a decent Western food meal.  *smiles*

From a very early morning breakfast in Tamparuli, I can't remember I woke up this early, to the beautiful majestic Mount Kinabalu. I want this view every day please? Yes. after a few weeks, we are here for the weekend again. But this time no staying over. Fun times which includes N & E. :) It was a long day.  I shall continue with the rest soon! Laters!

Mini Weekend Getaway Pt.2 01122012

Oh the comfort of the bed., I just want to hide under the white sheets. Hot showers in the morning, singing and dancing to Narmi's & Reza Salleh's songs on Youtube. the smell of this in house coffee somehow woke me up to a beautiful view I dream of waking every single day.  I saw ships and boats sailing away while everyone is already up for a swim from my balcony.  With the greens and blues, how can you say no to. The combination of a garden and sea view just makes my day. When you have the whole morning time to kill, grab the chances as long as you will. A stroll , walk into the  garden of trees and landscapes of a variety plants. Passed through the swimming pool, I don't feel like going for a swim though.  I headed down beside the pool bar, I laze on the beach chair under the shade instead.  Weekends are meant to be calm and relaxing, less stressful and zero disturbance.  Well except the ones that  rocks your day with never e

It's another working Saturday and it won't hurt to insert a mini weekend getaway in it.Upon checking in...A long evening walk. Chilling by the sea, watching sunset in shorts. Windy breeze, deep waters of the sea, let it flows and sail us away from the pollutions of the city. Not quite away from home. But such a pleasure to have this gift. Christmas songs down at the The Pacific Sutera lobby lounge while waiting to go dinner.  Spicy Thai food for dinner at Sino-Thai Resto & Bar. And a drive to The Muffinz Deli Cafe' in Magelllan Sutera Harbour  for a colourful dessert. Too suhweet for words! :) Room Sweet Room for a good night sleep :D

2nd December 2012

It's a good month of December to start with. A weekend to chill and what's on a major repeat.  If it is on a compact disc, I probably ruined it for playing it too frequent.  And.... It came to my mind to tweet.  Just cause I love the hash tag today. # ProudToBeAFanOf YOU, who sings the song through my heart, play the instrument of peace and be the moon & star to my soul. Yes, yes! :)

Early morning, breezy weather. I love waking up to this misty clouds. I had a hard time dragging myself for a quick breakfast. I hate to leave you this kinda-for-me-still-early , dear Kundasang. Oh this fresh feeling I wish you were always near. From the Ranau road to Tambunan, off for a pit-stop to have breakfast at my favourite place.  You would see this familiar Mat Salleh warrior statue every time you are in Tambunan small town. What to eat here? I always go for 'Mihun Soup' with mix ingredients that goes well with traditional local delicacy, 'tuhau'. That if I'm not having my Chinese mix rice. After Tambunan, we headed to long smooth road of the now more developed town of Keningau. I didn't took any picture but we hang out to check their only mall for a bit. Not bad at all. I think I could live here. Heehee.   And later on, we proceeded to the Crocker Range route . Another misty clouds on the way down Kimanis road. It was so g

My Saturday at work was cut short with a much needed road trip in the afternoon. With having brunch at Tamparuli, and hours later I found myself  admiring this view from up hill in Kundasang. I wouldn't really recommend this place called Wind Paradise. Not worth it. But it's somehow a good experience to sleep under the roof of a Mongolian hut like. Late afternoon at Desa Cattle Farm, weather's looking mighty fine.  Milks and grass, Cows and Goats feeding time.  Crowded farm didn't make it the least favourite visit. I was more distracted by those cloudy skies and rainbow from afar. Double rainbow to be exact. Feeling so ever colourful that day. There's nothing like having popcorn and fresh milk for the carton on a slightly cold weekend. It's an awesome feeling to be back here again. Went and check out some quite new places to stay. Capture some spectacular scenery hopefully we could treasure for a long time. We alr
